This was my first night back in spin class in almost 2 months, and gawd, it kicked my ass! But, I loved every minute of it. Thankfully, my wrist seems to have taken it pretty well. I guess I'll know better in the morning. One thing that Monica (nicknamed Mistress Monica - use your imagination as to why) does at the end of most of her spin classes is a song called "The Race". It's a track from Lord of the Dance. (I know it sounds queer, but it's the most motivating thing you'll every hear.) She has confided in me what track it is, but has also sworn me to secrecy - it's kinda her trademark. Anyway, I digress ... The point to the race is that you have in mind 3 of your least favorite people, and they're in the lead of "The Race". Your objective is to over take them and win "The Race". It's beyond motivating (but I've already said that, haven't I?)! Tonight, the 3 people that popped into mind were - Fat & Flabby Audrey, 10 lbs Lighter Audrey, and 15 lbs Lighter Audrey (seeing as my goal is to lose 20 lbs). It was an incredible mental picture.
Since I felt like sincerely torturing myself, I decided to get back on this health band wagon the week of Chris' birthday. So, to help offset the damage that could happen as a result of that, we're going to spin class again tomorrow night (Monica is substituting) and then we're going to the 90 minute spin class on Wednesday morning (Monica is the regular instructor there). In Weight Watcher world, I think all of that will earn me at least a sliver of Chris' b-day cake! ;-)
